Dr. Alvin Thomas, with support from UW–Madison’s School of Human Ecology and UW Extension, is pleased to announce the debut of the Black Fatherhood Podcast, which aims to educate, validate and elevate Black Fatherhood to help strengthen individuals, families and communities.
The series brings together scholars and experts to examine the historical context, benefits, and current societal factors influencing Black fatherhood, offering key insights and actions to consider. The first two episodes are now available – just in time for Father’s Day weekend and Juneteenth.
You can find the Black Fatherhood Podcast with Dr. Alvin Thomas on Spotify, Apple or wherever you find your podcasts. It is also available on Dr. Thomas’ lab website. Two episodes will be released each week in June and July 2022 to round out the 15-episode season, which will be available in both video and audio formats and close-captioned. Alvin Thomas, PhD, is the Phyllis Northway Faculty Fellow and Assistant Professor of Human Development and Family Studies at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Human Ecology. He is a clinical psychologist, researcher, and director of the Thomas Resilient Youth Lab (TRYlab).
